Weekday Happenings – November 10 – 14

This week includes the very special Veterans Days on Tuesday.  I am thankful for all of those who served and who currently serve our country.

November 10th (Monday)

Veterans Exhibit at Washington-Centerville Library.  All day (beginning at 10 am).  Walk through the annual exhibit honoring veterans.  All visitors are encouraged to write thank-you cards to the troops that will be delivered this holiday season.  This is free and open to the public.

Storytime at Dayton Visual Arts Center.  10:30 am.  Sing songs, play games, and read books.

ABC & Me Story Time at Xenia Library. 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm. Preschoolers will learn about letters and their sounds through stories and a craft. Ages 3-6.

French Storytime at Vandalia Library.  12:30 to 1:30 pm.  Learn simple French words, numbers, colors, greetings and songs.  Sample French desserts too.  Ages 3-6.

Monday Funday: After School at West Carrollton Library.  3:00 to 4:00 pm.  Watch movies, play games and make crafts.  Grades K-4 and tweens.

Game night at Ft. McKinley Library.  4:00 to 6:00 pm.  Grades K-4 and tweens.

Craftmania at East Library.  4:00 to 5:00 pm.  Create a cool craft.  All materials provided.  Ages 6-12.  Registration required.

Club Book at Miamisburg Library.  4:00 pm.  Have some snacks and talk about great teen fiction.  Grades 5-8.

Minecraft Mania at Xenia Library.  4:00 to 5:00 pm.  Try your luck at the creeper toss, minecraft bingo and more.  Ages 6 and up.

Bookworks Book Club at Fairborn Library.  4:30 pm.  Join this bookclub to read and talk about exciting books.  Snacks and drinks are provided.  Grades K-2.

Popcorn & Movie at EC Doren Library.  6:00 pm.  Enjoy a movie with some snacks.  Ages 13-17.

¾ Book Club at Miamisburg Library.  6:30 pm.  A book club just for third and fourth graders.  Register in advance.

Kids Game Night at Northtown Shiloh Library.  6:30 pm.  Grades K-6.

PJ Family Story Time at Fairborn Library.  6:30 pm.  Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal.  Ages 3-6.

Turkey Tales at Winters-Bellbrook Library.  6:30 pm.  Have fun with the Thanksgiving turkey and enjoy stories, music and crafts.  Ages 3 to 7.

Ninjamgo Academy at Brookville Library.  7:00 to 8:00 pm.  Grades K-4, tweens.

Beavercreek Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, 1911 N. Fairfield Road. 2 pm. Free and open to the public.  This program honors our Veterans.

Tweens Read – special collection at Yellow Springs Library.  3:00 pm.  Make a book charm and talk about the book of the month.  Tweens.

Lego Club at Belmont Library.  3:30 pm.  Build with hundreds of legos and duplo blocks.  Ages 5-12.  Register in advance.

Art Bots at Xenia Library.  4:00 pm.  Make a robot with markers for legs and create art.  Ages 10 and up.

Loom bracelets at Fairborn Library.  4:00 pm.  Create cool braceleets with a rainbow of rubber bands.  Grades 1-6.

Teen Wire Wrapped Necklace with Decoy Art Studio at Beavercreek Library.  4:30 pm.  Join Decoy Art Studio at the library and make a wire wrapped necklace.  Pre-registration is required.

Mother Goose on the Loose at Wilmington-Stroop Library.  5:30 pm.

Early Bookworm Readers at Xenia Library.  6:00 to 6:45 pm.  Children in grades K-2 can build their reading skills by joining us for a book discussion and activity.

Japanimania at Fairborn Library.  6:30 pm.  Watch anime and discuss.  Grades 6-12.

Preschool Storytime at Miamisburg Library.  6:30 to 7:15 pm.  Share stories, rhymes and songs that promote a love of reading.  Ages 3-5.

Leap Frog Parents Frogs Night Out at Leap Frogs Party & Play Center in Miamisburg.  6:00 to 9:00 pm.  $23 per child includes dinner.  Ages 4-13.  Kids get to enjoy dinner, fun bouncing, climbing, sliding and playing.

Kettering Children’s Theatre Presents Anne of Green Gables at Rosewood Arts Centre, 2655 Olson Drive.  7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Step back in time and let Anne Shirley be your guide of Prince Edward Island.  $5 for children 12 and under; $7 for adults.
